Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, an artist's daughter, from Mexico was born into a music-loving family. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros as well as classic ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a lover of the opera and tango genres as well as the various forms of dramatic performing. She started singing and studying songs with her mother and commenced more serious training in singing when she was 16 under the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. She continued her musical training in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a young student and professional, she performed with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. After 2000, she moved back to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she re-located to her present home in Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. She's involved in numerous local initiatives, both as performer and teacher, because of her passion for art and music. Ana is also a past part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity communicate with other people her love of the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations of musicians to keep the tradition living.
